We are pleased to announce Ted Mathas, Chairman and CEO of New York Life, as the featured speaker for “The Power of Partnership,” Outward Bound USA’s 2019 Corporate Luncheon honoring New York Life.
Join us at The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park on November 5th to celebrate New York Life and the New York Life Foundation and their philanthropic commitments, and to hear Ted Mathas discuss his views on leadership, diversity, community engagement and corporate responsibility. As CEO and Chairman of New York Life, Ted Mathas exemplifies “the power of partnership.” Ted is invested in creating a corporate culture that focuses on service and that fosters a collective pride of “we, not me.” As a champion of equity and inclusion, Ted believes that more diverse teams make smarter decisions – a belief that guides his actions in and out of the office. As an Outward Bound alum, Ted’s values “to serve, to strive and not to yield” are made evident by his genuine spirit of service and commitment to community.
Ted has spent much of his career improving the quality of public service – and doing social good through partnerships and collaborations. Ted currently serves on the Board of the Financial Services Roundtable; Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance; Executive Committee of the American Council of Life Insurers, as well as the Boards of the American Museum of Natural History and the Partnership for New York City. As a leader, Ted embraces principles of gratitude and accountability, and above all strives to make people feel connected. Ted’s dynamic personality, unique experiences and powerful insights will be a highlight of the luncheon.
